Totally Toronto: Spas

Spas

When we hear the word spa, we think of relaxation, pampering and unwinding; a way of releasing tension from the mind or body.

Being one of the most multicultural cities in Canada, Toronto has an extensive variety of spas and spa treatments.

Scattered and strategically placed across the city, Toronto spa facilities seem to carry a similar yet distinguished decor style.

The color palette that surrounds the interior walls of a spa facility are often earth tones that range from all sorts of beiges, leafy greens, rich soil browns, burnt oranges and sunshine yellows. Additional colors are, or can be added for a personal touch of a particular location of a spa.

Earth tones convey a strong presence of calmness and a connection to the mind, soul and body. In addition to a visual satisfaction, serene ambient music often plays softly in the background to complete the experience.

The city of Toronto has many varieties of spas in different price ranges and with different specialties. Facilities that are unisex or for the individual sexes; conveying a feeling of serene privacy.

Whether you have a need for a facial, a simple or complex massage, manicure or pedicure, or even a full body treatment, there is a Toronto spa for you.

Each facility in Toronto whether small, cozy and intimate, or large and luxurious have their own spa packages that include specific treatments.

Spas in Toronto specialize in many different treatments, some are small and only offer facials, manicure and pedicures, but most specialize in the latest and most popular treatments that are currently in demand. Each spa has its own distinguished etiquette where all employees are certified and require certification to be able to perform certain or all treatments.

Many young men and women are experimenting with different spa treatments such as waxing, to get rid of unwanted hair, which tends to last longer than a regular shave.

Others try different facials in hopes of improving the look of the skin, diminishing the appearance of dark spots or acne scars, as well as improving skin elasticity for healthier looking and feeling skin.

These treatments are less complex and can be offered at most spas, as well as most salons across the city.  But sometimes after a long, hard and busy week at work a full body massage will leave you relaxed and rejuvenated.

One of the more popular trends are Toronto holistic spas, where more and more people are turning to a healthier way of living, eating healthier foods, hydrating the body with lots of nutritional liquids and getting daily needed exercise.

These spas offer therapeutic treatments and detoxifying wraps not only for the purpose of relaxation but as well as the chance for the mind to relax, allowing for inner peace.

As these treatments may be more intense and time consuming, they are usually pricey. This is where spas take advantage of spa specials. The more treatments purchased in a spa package the more of a discount is received.

Day spas are also available throughout the city functioning both for individual treatments and procedures, as well as, full day experiences. These spas are great and another fun trend for bridal showers.

Imagine spending the day with your girlfriends getting pampered and attended to all while sharing some of the best intimate memories. Starting the day off with a swim in the salt water pool, following with a hot stone massage, leading to a facial and finishing off with a manicure and pedicure all while sipping on a glass of champagne, amongst laughter and stories.

But let's not forget the couples. Many spas now offer couple packages for you and your significant other. You can now spend an entire day with your loved one right beside you enjoying the same pampering. This makes for a perfect gift; reconnect with yourself and your body, all while enjoying the company of your best.

Whatever the preference each Toronto spa offers client consultations to determine the need of the guest, which will help leads to the perfect spa experience.
